My thoughts about Mina and AOA (1 Viewer)

Yes I know, you're all probably annoyed with all of these AOA threads circulating all over the place, and I am too. However, I wanted to say my piece and vent about it a bit. Usually I don't do things like this when a group gets into a huge controversy because something like this never happened with my faves, with the exception of Seungri and Hanbin. I usually just make a few comments about a group's controversy and go. But this is actually a lot different for me.

I've stanned AOA for 5 years. They got me to stay into kpop and I fell in love with the members and their music. I even stuck with them when they kept losing members. They've always been my ult GG. They're a group who I thought I'd stan until the very end, but now I feel like that's just all going to change. I would've never thought that Mina was bullied for over 10 years by Jimin. When I read about this the other night it just threw me off. I honestly couldn't believe it. One of the girls that I loved was torturing another member who I loved as well. All the way to the point where this member didn't want to be around anymore. What gets to me even more is that the other members didn't seem to do anything about it and neither did managers or other staff members. Why wasn't anything said? Why wasn't anything done?

And tbh, I don't know how to feel about the others right now... I'm not going to cancel or hate the other members right now. We still need to know their sides of the story, if they ever decide to reveal it. Mina is still following the other members on IG (if that matters) and she was always really close to Hyejeong. She even posted photos of them together a week ago. But I'm still left with so many questions about this....

It just pisses me off so much. All these years I thought the members were all close to each other when in reality, it was all a lie. Yes I know that groups aren't always bff's with each other and some member might not like each other. But when it gets to the point of bullying, it's even worse. And the fact that Jimin tried to emotionally manipulate Mina when she tried to "apologize" makes me even more angry. Mina will never get a genuine apology from her or FNC and she knows that.

However, I hope that one day Mina will be able to heal and let go of this one day. I hope that she'll be successful as an actress as well. Mina has always been hardworking so she deserves all the best. She needs all the love and support that she can get right now. I just really want her to get better for her own sake. So please give Mina support during this time 💙

When I heard about this, I was definitely surprised. Never in my life did I expect this to happen. I honestly don't even know how to think about this. There's always going to be more than one side, but for now, I think we only really know Mina's side?

Yeah we mainly have Mina's side of the story and I think the only thing we've gotten was when she posted "fiction" on instagram. Honestly this is such a mess, but I'm glad we know about this now. Even though this is disappointing, it's good that we know Jimin's true colors

Yeah, definitely. It's sad because Jimin was such a role model for many young people.

Well I don't have a nice word to say about Jimin anymore and I don't know of what she could possibly have said to make up for just how destroyed Mina sounded. I just wish she had of apologised to Mina properly before dipping but I guess it'd kill her to do that and that just made me wash my hands of Jimin all together.

For the other members it's a tough spot as if they knew and did nothing because of the Korean hierarchy and Jimins position is something I'd be disappointed in but I don't think it's something I should cancel them for. The part that would cancel them for me would be the context of that conversation with Mina since if they tried downplaying it and that's why Mina started apologising then I couldn't let that slide since they shouldn't be doing that.

Apparently there was 1 older member who stuck up for Mina it was thought to be either Yuna or Choa which Choa was older than Jimin so she'd make the most sense I find.

All in all it'd be nice if the others said something but I don't know if they will and I just hope that Mina can start getting better and focusing on her dream and I'm glad it seems that her company is supporting her.

Yeah you basically outlined how I feel about the situation. While they weren’t my ults I’ve stanned AOA for a while now.
And through it all Jimin has always been my bias. From everything we saw, she seemed like a fantastic leader. She kept the group together, always performed amazingly, even on Queendom she came across really well and seemed an inspiring figure. Add to that the fact that she herself has been a victim of cyber bullying due to her looks, plastic surgery and weight, plus her battles with anorexia, it made me get behind her even more and root for her.

Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought she would be bullying Mina for so long and to this point, and I honestly don’t know what to think of the other members too atm. I even gave her the benefit of the doubt at first, thinking maybe she was just a strict leader and didn’t get along with Mina but didn’t bully her either. But from everything that’s come out since and how she posted Fiction and then tried to gaslight Mina in her home, it left me feeling really weird.

Honestly, it’s good she’s left the industry but she and Mina both need professional help rn imo. I hope they’re able to move on with their lives and find peace.

Yeah I remember Jimin getting hate from people about her getting plastic surgery and losing too much weight. I was even worried for her health when I saw how skinny she had gotten. It made me so mad when people kept mocking her, but now I almost don't feel as bad? When she did to Mina was just horrific and unforgivable.

When I found out about this I really hoping Jimin didn't do it, but then someone told me that Mina confirmed it was indeed Jimin. I'm just so disappointed in her.

I hope that Mina can heal from this. Mina getting help is the best thing for her right now and probably Jimin too

And I didn't notice that Choa didn't follow Jimin until people pointed it out. I don't blame her for not following her especially right now.

As someone who has had Jimin as her bias since I laid my eyes on AOA back when Like a Cat got released, I can't help but feel a lot of things. I really love Mina ( and I fell for her while watching Modern Farmer back then) and it all still feels surreal. All I do know is that I really won't support Jimin in any way. Not so sure like you about the rest. A lot could have happend with them too, and there are many times where people just can't speak up against a bully cause they think whatever they say won't do any good so they rather not say anything.

Anyway Mina really is a sweet angel and I hope she will feel better.
