He probably thinks this is the only way to get his son out of it.

I doubt he actual actually bought the drugs but at some point your kids need to take responsibility for themselves.

for real, parents shouldn't coddle their kids like this. They should make sure their kids know what's right and what's wrong instead of protecting them from every consequence :/

While I understand that it's natural to want to protect your kid this is likely to do more damage in the long run, he needs to take responsibility for his actions.
