Idk why 127 does rap most of time. They have 7 vocalists, their 2 rappers can sing, no reason to release rap when their best songs are vocally focused (superhuman, highway to heaven, a portion of their bsides) yk??? I'm really loving the instrumental here though. The beat's sick!

Rapping and 127 are two peas in a pod, just something that’s a part of their identity and far too late in the game to complain about. No reason they shouldn’t incorporate rap suddenly when it’s part of the reasons their fans love their music so much. The heavenly vocals paired with the rap sections.

Understandable! But still I'm gonna be begging on my knees for an actually sung chorus next time lol

Edit: Never too late to change the sound btw. They could be 10 years in their career and start doing something new and I'd support it

I like it! It's the right level of hype for a January release. I've been listening to the full album this morning, and it's a solid album all around.

I love it! These three tracks I think move this album into best 127 album for me. 2 Baddies is fine but I had Favorite as the best album because the combination of Queen Sticker and Favorite plus the strong bsides. I think the pacing and quality of the bsides is better on 2 Baddies but the tt was holding it back from toppling. The combination of Ay-Yo with 2 Baddies plus the awesome Skyscraper and phenomenal DJ definitely make this the best album for me. That

Because this is core to their style and their point of difference. SM has many strong vocal male groups from Shinee to EXO to SuJu to TVXQ but only one group that excels at rap AND vocals.

If they had just come out as a vocal group only, they would have felt like a knock off EXO, as well as not leveraging one of their best assets: really strong rappers, in addition to those amazing vocalists. Not only is that rap fundamental to their style, they’re great at it and one thing I’ve always enjoyed is the way they can span so many different styles - they can go hard on a rap song, soar on a vocal song or on their signature songs, combine the two into a quintessential NCT 127 song: fire bars + majestic vocals.

I understand but still I heavily disagree. If 127 debuted with a vocal heavy track they would have not sounded like exo at all. And many other sm groups have strong rappers too: Exo for instance.
And, I'm gonna get slack for this, but 127 does not excel at rap. They're good at it, Mark and Taeyong are great rappers, but they don't excel at it. I think a reason for that is the sound they're given. You can disagree on this though.
This is my opinion though as a casual listener, take it with a grain of salt.
