The only royal residence I can think of is in Versailles so imma say that. If it's not close to Paris, my second guess is Bordeaux. Logical reason? None. I just like it there.

It was divided into the north German confederation, along with the other southern states and other economic German confederations and the main German confederation, but not Germany as a unified nation. Prussia was the big dog at the time. The beef with France started for various reasons but the most obvious one was when Isabella the 2nd of Spain was dethroned in a military coup, and the Prince of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, which was controlled by Prussia, tried to be in the line of succession of Spain. This upset Napoleon the 3rd, who was the emperor of France (not the famous Napoleon), who declared war on Prussia. Prussia won, and decided that they might as well create a unified German empire while they’re in France. And hence, the second Reich was born, and Kaiser Wilhelm the first became the first emperor of Germany.
