Since this season is full of older animes getting new seasons I thought I wouldn't watch that much new stuff, but nope. At first this season did look bit devoid and boring with new content, but when i actually got to watch some new shows there was many surprisingly good one's- at least what comes to start.
Beastars
Basically this is dark and mature version of zootopia. Even the plot, based on one ep at least, seems to be somewhat similar xd So this is ur school life anime expect that everyone is animal and predators and prey animals don't rly get along that well- especially after one of the prey animals gets eaten by schoolmate. I loved how the opening of the first ep went, it rly felt like watching good horror. This will probably be the highlight of the season for me.
Watch if: You want to watch something good with darker athmosphere
Dont' watch if: You don't like ur anime to have animal characters and 3D animation
ORESUKI/ Are you the only one who loves me?
I didn't expect anything with this, but i rly got surprised by it. Every episode so far has been full of twists and turns of both plot and the characters. I can't rly expect at all what next ep will bring. Basically this is like Death Note if it was school romance or Kaguya-sama: Love is War if the characters were actually selfish and mostly bad people. The one who you think is villain the story has changed from ep to ep though xd In top of that this is love triangle to max.
Watch if: you are into plotting characters and plot twists
Don't watch if: you are looking for wholesome romance and u dislike selfish characters
Hataage! Kemono Michi
So usually not fans of isekais, but i couldn't help but laught at ridiculousness of the first ep and i guess i'm in a ride right now. Plot shortly is that professional wrestler (who is also furry) gets transformed into new universe as hero to kill demonic beasts, but instead decides he wants to keep pet shop of demonic beasts.
Watch if: You just want to watch sth silly and ridiculous.
Don't watch if: Furry jokes are turn-off and u aren't fan of random humor
Mairimashita! Iruma-kun
Another I didn't expect much about, but somehow even if the premise is rly simple: boy gets sold to demon by his parents and now he must attend demon school while concealing the fact he's human. Regardless how simple the anime even with the animation, it just works for me and is sth i look forward every week. Maybe one reason is that it reminds me of older shonen animes both with story and style.
Watch if: Ur wanting something simple, fun and wholesome
Don't watch if: You want something more serious and with substance
Hoshiai no Sora
Seems like pastel-colored slice of life sports anime of boys playing tennis and growing up together, probably will be quite laidback with some comedy and some drama.. oh... okay, now it got dark. That's my thoughts on watching the first ep. It does seem like this one is taking pretty serious and mature take on sports anime genre. This was biggest shocker this season.
Watch if: You want good school drama that isn't scared to go bit dark and melancholic at times
Don't watch if: You want to watch more action and comedy driven sports anime with pretty boys
