[Breaking News] 19 high school girls in Daejeon were poisoned by carbon monoxide on an oil stove (naver.com)

On the first day of the new school year, in a classroom where they smoked an oil stove, it was reported that a group of high school girls showed symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning and were receiving hospital treatment.

According to Yonhap News Agency on the 2nd, at 3:19 p.m. that day, 2 second-year students at a girls' high school in Jung-gu, Daejeon, complained of dizziness and headaches and were taken to the hospital. Two of the students were reported to be in serious condition.

새 학기 첫날 석유난로를 피우던 교실에서 여고생들이 한꺼번에 일산화탄소 중독 증세를 보여 병원 치료를 받고 있는 것으로 알려졌다.

2일 연합뉴스 등에 따르면 이날 오후 3시 19분께 대전 중구의 한 여자고등학교 2학년생 19명이 어지럼증과 두통 등을 호소해 병원으로 옮겨졌다. 학생들 가운데 2명은 상태가 심한 것으로 전해졌다.

당시 교실에서는 40분가량 동안 창문을 닫은 상태에서 석유난로를 피우고 있었다. 경찰과 소방당국은 자세한 사고 경위를 조사 중이다.
