The phrasing is like they think obeying court orders is optional, but they're going to do it anyway to be nice.
It really does :coronawimwim:

you split your business into multiple sub-labels, Big Hit Entertainment, Ador, Belift Lab, Source Music, Pledis Entertainment and K’Oz Entertainment because you're an ignorant dude who wants zero responsibilities with regards to creativity and you just want money, money and money. So you basically go ahead and do exactly what SM did the year before because you think it's much easier to manage money rather than giving a rat's ass about Idols......

what can go wrong, right?

interesting

I wonder what this hiatus means...

do they comply with post termination cfs that they've entered into?
what of cfs entered into prior to the termination?

what if ador wants to undertake new or old activities whether it be music or variety content or cfs etc etc - is NJ refusing?

does that mean they are refraining from going on social media (as NJZ?)

Weird take when Hybe has been very lenient on how they treat NewJeans in this controversy which of course is only to protect their investment in them but SM would not have cared and raked these girls through the coals.

The fact Hybe is still willing to take NewJeans back and work together it's disingenuous to pretend like they pushed these girls out while they continually prove to be self destructive as Korea hates them as a whole after the girls slandered them in the Times interview.

Hybe deserves criticism in areas of their handling of situations but you lose credibility in your points when you mix in something that just isn't true.

But of course it isn't true and I am most definitely weird....let's face it, I'm a conspiracy theorist!
In fact, I'd say I'm obviously a bot given that even AI agrees with my pathetic notions!
It's pretty obvious that I know nothing about K-pop! I strongly agree with you.
Whatever you do, don't read this! It's all lies and Hybe is the best darn Agency since sliced onions!

Potential Problems with Music Sub-Labels:
  • Dilution of Brand Identity:
Sub-labels, while offering a niche focus, can sometimes struggle to maintain a consistent brand identity, especially if they are not aligned with the parent label's overall vision.
  • Artist Promotion Challenges:
Sub-labels may face difficulties in promoting artists, as they may not have the same resources or reach as the parent label.
  • Lack of Creative Control:
While sub-labels may offer more creative freedom than the parent label, artists may still face limitations in their creative choices, especially if the parent label has strong opinions about the sub-label's direction.
  • Potential Conflicts with Parent Label:
Sub-labels may face conflicts with the parent label regarding artist contracts, marketing strategies, or other business matters.
  • Difficulty in Tracking Sub-Label History:
It can be difficult to track the history of sub-labels, as they may not always have the same level of visibility as the parent label.
  • Financial and Marketing Focus:
Sub-labels may be viewed as brands that have become removed from consumer awareness and now mainly serve as financial and marketing companies.
  • Industry Perception:
Some artists and industry professionals view sub-labels as a way for major labels to exploit artists, with a focus on maximizing profits rather than artist development.
  • Nepotism:
The music industry is known for nepotism, and sub-labels are no exception. It's often not about what you know, but who you know.
  • Lack of Investment:
Labels may not invest a lot in their artists unless they go viral somewhere or they can see huge success for them.

Potential problems does not equal actual problems and you shouldn't be taking action on what could happen unless you have reason to believe it's going to happen otherwise you'll just become paranoid of everything.

I don't particularly see any of these issues with Hybes system in particular but if you're aware of something I'm not and can give me examples from Hybe then I'd be open changing my perspective instead of getting passive aggressive which doesn't help further any point.

Yes, I'm paranoid. lol. Let's leave it at that, shall we. I could tell you the story of a marketing dude at Hyundai Motor company who became an overnight Kpop ceo but I'm more than convinced you wouldn't passively agressively care about what I know and truth be told, I couldn't care less about him or NJ for that matter. thanks for the chat! /thread

For NewJeans sake MHJ should have backed down and accepted the creative director job after making some contract changes because I know hybe will be petty and try stuff if allowed. NewJeans is gonna be pretty screwed and judging from their new song and the way they dressed...it doesn't look good. Both the girls and MHJ will end up losing everything especially since hybe is backed by half the industry and high ups. It sucks because I liked like 99% of NewJeans their songs.

Hope they have a good contract lawyer who can sort out what they still are legally obligated to participate in vs what they can take a hiatus from.

Though I also kinda feel like the companies who chose to enter into agreements with them while the court case was pending did so at their own risk.

I doubt MHJ ever actually cared about the girls and just saw them as a meal ticket since this whole situation started over the belief that MHJ was going to try and steal NewJeans which at this point isn't that exactly what it seems like they're trying?

NewJeans have outright said they will never work for Hybe again meanwhile MHJ is looking for investors that are probably for buying their termination fees out which are insanely high.

I don't think MHJ or NewJeans wanted it to go to court as Hybe initiated it so maybe they were overconfident in finding someone to buy out their termination fees before it got that far and now it'll drain them of any money they do have which Hybe can easily replenish.
