I looped Dash just to make sense of it (the bit just before the second proper chorus when the singer slows down is insane, wtf), and... It grew on me so much, despite my hatred of jazz and rnb! It's really good.
But then!
I listened to the album.
Friends, it's amazing.
Legit one of the best k-pop releases I've ever heard. Every song hits the spot for me. Break the Wall is a bit generic, and Passionfruit sounds a bit Newsjeansy (but I like it better!), but all the other tracks are so idiosyncratic. I think old-heads would really like it, it's a really quintessentially k-pop album, far away from what you would hear in the west. You can trace a straight line from f(x) to this stuff. Love it, love it.
