it seems the risk of nuclear war is the closest it has been. my mom been talking of us moving to brasil or sao tome and principe if it actually goes forward, so i been thinking if i would stay in my country and help if needed or just run away. not sure yet, cause even tho i love my country and fellow portuguese, the cause of this war was all dirty politics
do u think putin will use nuclear weapons? and what would u do if he did? u think ur country is safe for a nuclear warzone?

very quick resume for the ones not aware of recent events

basically,
1-russia was able to take over 4 regions of ukraine. they did a voting and the citizens of those regions voted to be apart of russia, so according to russia that is russia territory now
2-ukraine, nato and other countries call the voting corrupt and dont see those regions as russia
3-ukraine is trynna take back those parts, problem is now thats "russia"
4-at the start of the war and till now it was always said by putin "u attack russia, we use nuclear weapons" and nato replied with them declaring war on russia if that happens

so ye next weeks gonna be tense i assume

the ucranio president will definitely not just... give away the land that russia has taken
unlike afganistán with the taliban, zelenskyy will fight back- and he has been trying his best, even though rusia is "more powerful",, you could say more powerful but they really arent

honestly as depressing as it sounds theres no point for us regular, everyday people to stress over it. if it happens theres nothing we can do to stop it and we'll just have to hope it ends in the blink of an eye for us. if it doesnt then we'll have wasted our lives worrying over something that never happened. we might as well make the best of our time while we can.

i recently heard a guy say Zelensky actually wanted to stop the war back in february, but it was not in the interest of Nato for him to take the deal
the deal was, giving independence to the Donbas region and agree to not join Nato. according to multiple sources he was gonna take that deal, if not for people like Biden and Boris Johnson
not sure how true is it, but i think by this point everyone knows the war is way more than just giving independence to those regions
