Jackson´s parents were athletes.
His mother is from Shanghai. His father is also from the mainland China. Jackson sees himself as Chinese.
He also learnt Mandarin and Shanghai dialect from his grandmother, with whom he spent his summer holidays.
He grew up in Sha Tin, Hong Kong.
Jackson has an older brother who lives in Australia. His brother has a daughter named Aimee, making Jackson an uncle.
He attended American International School, so his English is flawless. He also speaks Cantonese and Mandarin fluently.
Jackson was a fencer and won Asian Junior and Cadet Fencing Championship of 2011.
He moved to Korea at the age of 16, joining JYP, giving up a place at the Stanford University, not finishing the prestigious high school and working very hard for his dream.
He debuted with GOT7 in 2014.
Jackson is a hard worker and it is shown. He is all goofy and fun in interviews, but when it comes to work, he seems to be very serious.
He has his own company TEAM WANG.
