Reality Official Produce_X101 Thread (The Finale Is Subbed NOW!!!) (13 Viewers)

Produce_X101 is the fourth season in the HUGELY popular 'Produce' franchise by Korean television network, Mnet. It is set to air on May 3rd 2019 and aims to form a male idol group that will actively promote for 5 years!

This season of the show will include an increase in the number of individual trainees (trainees without agencies) and will see the introduction of a new evaluation rank called, "Class X" which will be a rank BELOW Rank F which was the lowest possible ranking on all three previous seasons. The applications for this season were also open to contestants from all over the world which probably means we'll be seeing a lot more international contestants participating this year than in previous seasons.

This season will be hosted by Lee Dongwook with Lee Seokhoon and Shin Yoomi serving as vocal coaches as well as Cheetah and Kwon Jaeseung returning as coaches of rap and dance, respectively.

I remember that the F trainees back then were like treated more poorly than the ones higher, idk if it was true or not, but if it was and now with an X class lower than F then just oof

They're accepting a lot more independent trainees this time so I'm assuming that the X rank is for people who've had zero training. Like, for people from dance teams who've never had vocal lessons or vice versa with singers who can't dance...

Be interesting if you go to class X that if you dont leave class X by next ranking that you leave the show kinda thing...
and ohh this means maybe more mixed trainees as well

I have two theories about X rank.

1) If you get X you are a terrible candidate, you go home immediately and cry.

2) If you get X you are exempted from first elimination cause you're so good.

Same lol I don't think I've ever watched a finale episode all of the way through! I usually find out the lineup straightaway after the episode airs and by the time the sub is out, I don't really care to watch it...

Could be but the current reports are saying that X rank is BELOW F rank plus the whole point of the show is that the nation are supposed to produce the group all by themselves so I don't think judges eliminations would go down too well with the audience...

I was asleep when they announced the first group lol. I did watch the episode later though.
I kept up with all the episodes season 1 but then lost interest in IOI because I didn't like any of their songs until the very last. So I had an interest in the members just not the group as a whole.

I couldn't get into S2. From the auditions there wasn't really a trainee that caught my attention. P48 I watched a few episodes but it was sporadic and then i just watched performances. I did have more interest in some of the trainees that season though they just didn't make the group mostly lol

So i'm going to have to see the trainees this time around. Hopefully they'll debut with good music too

I watched S2, all episodes from live stream. I don't think I've ever watched PD101 fully with subs. You'll miss so much if you keep waiting for subtitles because they can take a while.

Me and my friends got together on Discord and we watched final while commenting. It was so worth it even though it was nervewrecking. If you can find someone else to watch with you 2-3 hours, then you might enjoy it a lot more.

I hope it's 5 pm again for me like season 2, so I assume airing date should be 11 PM KST every Friday? I remember finishing work 5 pm and going home super fast, once I got home, I rushed to my room and turned on PC, luckily you don't miss much from the beginning. xD

Also that X rank, I don't understand why it's needed, F rank is bad enough and yet there were members in W1 with that rank, it doesn't prove much, because you can improve. They evaluate you twice, but the second time is a lot more important (the one where you have to dance to the theme song and sing along), there were a lot of guys who went to F just because of that but there are also guys like Minhyun, who obviously is more talented than D, the rank he got, then again there was Taedong who went from F to A and still couldn't debut. I hope people don't judge these trainees too hard unless they actually make a fool of themselves and don't take it seriously like Jung Joongi did, then it's a well deserved F, lmao.
