Its sad to see everyone quit becasue they see no other way to ever catch a break... those algorythms and how punishing they are when people ever take breaks, really are too much.. I wish things could change instead of making everyone burn out and leave

Yeah, I know how that feels. Only your most loyal fans will end up coming back after a long hiatus and for a lot of creators, that's just only a small amount too. It's a good thing that he has people that are going to take over his channels so it's not the end of the Theorists series. It just won't be the same.

Yeah, someone mentioned before that it was Tom something that started the "trend" even though they've probably been waiting a long time to retire.

I don't blame him though. 13 years is a long time for anything. It's bittersweet but we'll move on whether we support the channels after it or not 💗

Now I'm 18...

Also, looking at his old videos was super interesting. Like he posted a bunch of videos from a musical he was in, it seems. Also, there was one that was pretty short of him singing like I DIDN'T KNOW HE COULD SING!!

There are a lot of different people on here so I'm sure there are some who it had an impact on, including us...
I know...I watched every second of his goodbye video. I kid you not, I was so ready for him to be like "Sike! Haha, I got you! I can't believe you fell for it!" Even though I don't think he's the type of person to do this there are some YouTubers that make clickbait or sarcastic titles about them leaving or taking a break or breaking up with someone, etc. but his tears were genuine. And once I realized that I started crying too.

Maybe I do that a lot with things I get in denial over. I remember when it was announced that Cameron Boyce had passed away, I seriously thought it was some sort of joke even though people don't usually joke about that but I think I was so in shock and denial. But then I saw a video of a news anchor reporting on it and then I was started bawling out crying.

And I will watch every moment of every video that comes out with him in it. Ofc, I will continue supporting the Theorists channels but it just won't be the same and we'll never be able to get that moment back.

I was watching Markipliers video he dropped yesterday, I was scrolling through comments and then I saw the comment saying that they came to marks vid right after Matt’s goodbye video and I clicked the read more comments cause I thought it was a joke, I immediately opened up the game theorist yt channel and there it was “Goodbye Internet” as soon as I saw it there, the amount of views it already had and just hearing Matt’s sadness and tears, I broke down instantly and knew it wasn’t a joke I cried on the floor for over a few hours, I couldn’t get up, i couldn’t even think right, I tried to distract myself, but instead I was reading tweets from certian YouTubers Like Danno Cal Draws, Jacksepticeye, fans, editors of team theorist, Fuhnaff, Dawko, and just kept crying
I understand being in denial
I’ll never forget when mark dropped the first teaser for ISWM (in Space with Markiplier) the title of the video was “Everything has to End” my stomach dropped and I ran to the bathroom, watched the video and cried, it wasn’t until I read comments and the description when I realized that he wasn’t quitting but was teasing us with ISWM, I went from crying to laughing and being slight angry within a rush of seconds, I won’t forgive Mark for that one😂😌
But I’ve also had a sadder case
I remember when a beloved power rangers actor David Jason Frank passed away, the whole community was in shock and it was so sad to realize that it wasn’t a lie
He will really be missed

we will get through this together
Matt has an amazing journey to go through, and that’s being DadPat!

Aww, I'm so sorry. But remember, "don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." And even if you're the biggest fan, I don't think you've watched all his videos so it's time to go back and watch them! That's what I did when Gloom stopped uploading, at least :D
I told my tablemates in one of my classes (we're all friends that like nerdy stuff) that MatPat was leaving, and they all already saw except for one and she was like "WHAT?!?! SERIOUSLY?!" She didn't expect it and I played the ending of his video, the part where he's like "This isn't my last time saying this but that's just a theory...a GAME theory..." and she's like "stop, I'm gonna cry..." So sad!!

I really didn't expect it to happen so soon anyway. I mean, you can't do the same thing forever no matter how much your fans want you to. I'm happy if he's happy. I sort of hate that he's losing sleep and time with his family just to make us happy and I think his happiness is the most important. That's what I tell myself when anyone I follow retires, takes a long break, etc.
It's truly the end of an era.
And lmaooo yeah. That's why I don't know when to trust these sorts of announcements anymore. But then again, it could just be denial and how much we don't want for it to be true.

Aww, yeah. That's always the worst. Those are the saddest goodbyes because a lot of times, you don't even get to hear their goodbye. And the way you will never see them again in this life hurts deeply.

Same. It's bittersweet but happiness comes first, and I think this is something we'll have to move on from. It's like a high school graduation. Saying goodbye to the best friend you may never see in person again is one of the hardest things, but you have to dwell on the fact that to move on to a new chapter in their life, you have to end the old one. That's how a book works, that's how life works. I'm just glad he was able to leave on a good note and walk into a place in his life where he can be happy. I wouldn't want anything less. 💜

Goodbyes are the hardest, especially the goodbye forever, whether guaranteed or most likely.

Ikr! Ending such a big chapter in your life in order to start a new one is one of the scariest, saddest and happiest moments. You don't realize it until you actually get there though and I know I'm going to be so emotional. But it's what's necessary to move on. Things never lasts. It's the sad truth.

Oh wow, that's a really interesting concept! I had no idea that existed :(
But I love the way you were able to tie to real life. Who knew something so simple as a YouTube channel that posts everyday could do that? But time is so underrated. Some people think they have all the time in the world but the scary part is not knowing when your time will come.

There's a song by an artist called For King and Country that recently released a song all about that. In the chorus, the lyrics are:

What are you waiting for?
What are you wating for?
Why are we wasting all our time like someone's making more?
What are we praying for?
What are we saving for?
What if we could be the light that no one could ignore?

It may be made by a Christian duo but it can apply to literally anyone. None of us are immortal. All of our times come to an end at some point, whether we like to acknowledge it or not. That taught me to live in the moment and realize that it won't always last.
