What's something political (ish) that isn't bad?

For me it's that there's a state in the northeast US (Massachusetts) where the capital city (Boston) receives a giant Christmas tree from Halifax, Nova Scotia, and has every year since 1971, along with one in 1917. The gift is a thank you gift for the help Boston sent to Halifax in the explosion they had in 1917. At least 1,782 people died in the explosion, while about 9,000 people were injured. The event is sad ofc, but the help that different places offered (such as Boston) and their return gifts that have been going on for many years now are nice to see Halifax also gives smaller trees to 2 homeless shelters in Boston as well.

I feel like they must have gifted the money Boston sent (as in the price to transport the helpers, food, water, the money to pay the helpers ofc, and that stuff) as a whole many times over by now It's not cheap after all to find trees, prepare them, cut them down, send it by some truck ig and ferry all the way to Boston, pay for the permits to send the tree, pay for the officials and whatnot who are staying in Boston for the ceremony, the actual cost of the ceremony and lights and stuff, and probably more that I'm not thinking of. But ig to them they don't mind the monetary cost, it's more about the gesture. According to what I read it's a big deal for Halifax residents too, they supposedly offer up trees and will part with trees they wouldn't part with otherwise, they have send off ceremonies with all kinds of people (apparently in 2013, the year of the Boston marathon bombing, they had runners wearing the marathon colors to send out the tree), they let Halifax residents sign a thank you book, and probably more too. It's really heartwarming tbh
