Having your pet be in the same building as you but being unable to see them for weeks
Another is sleeping after acl surgery. Before when I’m doing stuff on my phone or whatnot the pain is manageable, it’s kind of in the back of my mind. But as soon as I try to sleep it’s all I can focus on

We don’t let my dog downstairs, we taught her not to go down the steps when she was little so my cat had some space, because my cat was not young and had grown up with no dogs or other cats. After she passed we kept that rule in place though, and it came in handy when we introduced my new cat to the house, since he was shy at first and my dog wasn’t aggressive per say, but she did growl at him at first. Now they’re friendly, but at this point reteaching her that it’s okay to go downstairs would be hard. And since I can’t go upstairs it means we can’t interact for now
That was a long ramble, I like talking about my pets if it isn’t obvious

So in essence your abusing your self. I had a dog I taught to chase cats. Then in moment of bad judgment I fell in love with a cat and it only took about a week to teach her to leave the cat alone.

Well uh ace no doubt that it can be done to change her habits, but other than my current issue there’s not really a good reason to change things so so don’t think anyone would be down for that.
And as much as I would love to see her I do worry that she would get overexcited and possibly injure my knee more than it is, so maybe it’s for the best I do miss her though

Atleast she doesn't get separation anxiety. And sounds better that you don't get injured worse. Things will get better soon!
