I'm not sure exactly how this will affect his role within the company since from what I understand he was already quite passively involved, nevertheless it's a bit of a sad news because I really like him and believe that both his artistic and personal vision is important for the company. On the other hand this might give him more time to spend on being an artist and mentor so it might be a net win for the company, I really don't know - wish him all the best, though!

on march 10th 2026, the company confirmed that park Jin young will resign from his post, according to the agency during the shareholders meeting he will no longer undergo the process for reappointment to the board on march 26. (Why i just got over crying about enhyphen jyp was fun and a father figure to idols)

JYP Entertainment founder Park Jin Young (also known as JYP) will step down from his position as an internal director. JYP Entertainment announced on the afternoon of March 10 that Park will not seek reappointment as an internal director at the company’s shareholder meeting scheduled for March 26.

The company stated that Park plans to focus on his creative activities as an artist, mentoring junior artists, and taking on new external roles for the K-pop industry. Although he will leave JYP Entertainment corporately, he will remain as a singer and artist in the agency.

Park Jin Young has been active in the music industry as a singer, composer, and producer since his debut in 1994. Last September, he was also appointed co-chair of the Presidential Committee for Cultural Exchange in Popular Culture.

Based on the actual release, he's just not seeking re-election to the board, because he currently has other obligations, but he'll still be involved. And he's not even leaving the company, just the board.

IDK, makes perfect sense to me. Man's been stretched thin for a while.

I feel like the only thing that will in reality change is him not having to attend business meetings. He will most likely help new groups/soloists to become better artists. Mentoring means that an experienced person (mentor) supports and guides a less experienced person.
