My uncle telling me, a Chinese language major in her senior year of university, how to pronounce one of the most simple words in Chinese. This is after he couldn't tell if I was reading Chinese, Japanese, or Korean




I guess all my years of learning Mandarin are just nothing

but chinese, japanese, and korean all sound so different-

i bet you're amazing at speaking mandarin sometimes people like to think they know more about something (that they really know nothing about) just because they're older and "more experienced"
