I hate it when people text like they're writing an essay, with full punctuation and no abbreviations idk why it just annoys me

And I also hate it when I've sent a text and they take more than 2 days to respond
The whole point of a text message is to get a response within minutes otherwise I would've sent my message by pigeon

Im guilty of essay messages, but I still use abbreviations. I just like proper sentences sue me!

I don't mind that, I get some people like to type like that but like Ik some people who will type out complete sentences, capitalization, proper punctation, with apostrophes, commas, and they never use abbreviations like its a crime, like chill, please!

ngl -- I'm mostly annoyed with my own behaviour lol I tend to just.... get up and leave for a couple days and then when I come back I suddenly get like "oh is the conversations still on or like do I need a new topic or like are they ok with me just leaving in the middle for a few days it's so weird gah"

Either that about me or that I can see a part of a reply that's important and that needs a good reply but then I seriously can't think up words and now I'm stuck because the read receipt already dry snitched on me and I know the words coming out of my mouth next reeeeeeeks of "no thoughts behind my eyes"

I ment it like you sit back and expect people to prove to you that they are worthy of your attention before you contribute anything. Some people do it to establish a power dynamic early on as if they are the desireable one and everyone else is competing for their attention.

It's usually done by people who are used to getting a lot of attention rather than anything malicious and I understand the reasoning, it's only natural to be selective with your time when you don't have enough of it. The problem is that it's not only unfair to others but to them as well because the people who will stand out is usually not the genuine ones, but the ones who know how to play you.

I doubt I'd ever make friends with such people honestly if they bore me, I'll be leaving anyway

When in doubt, just be honest. I respect you for doing it! I again don't think people do it out of malice but because they are afraid of confrontation, it's impossible to go through life without hurting peoples feelings though so sometimes it's better to be direct than to drag things out and try to soften the blow by wasting everyones time. It's like pulling off a band-aid!

Not always! I have RSD and I avoid confrontations a lot, even online the one who'll feel more hurt if they respond badly will be me

Yah, most of the people I talk to I tend to at least try to hold longer conversations even if I struggle through them
But its also a matter of topic and tone, cus if you're excited then I'm excited and the conversation will flow easier, its just hard to hold my attention via screen

However when talking with Harmony I try my best to answer back, until the messages become less answerable and more like statements

If I take long, I'm sorry, I sometimes get overwhelmed and procrastinate

I don't mind, continue where we left off When you have friends from opposite timezones or those who aren't active daily, you can't be bothered by gaps in conversations

I'm like that too sometimes especially with comforting, I WISH someone else would do it

I think you just described me on both accounts.

I understand why you might feel like that though, it can come off as boring and inflexible or even a bit cold. One of the reasons I do it is because I didn't get a basic education and english isn't my first language so I'm always trying to improve my grammar - and if you don't even attempt to use it properly you won't ever improve at it.

But I won't deny that I'm also a perfectionist who doesn't want to appear lazy and it's important for me to be clear since I hate it when people misunderstand me because I didn't express myself correctly.

As for the second account, my bad - I'm just an introvert and I can only respond when I find the energy.
