Idk if that’s what she meant, but to me it sounds more like she’s saying that they happen at the same time, which is different from feeling happiness stronger because in the past you’ve sad moments. But I could see how this translation might have actually meant to say the whole you can’t be fully happy without knowledge of how sad feels.
