i genuinely hate seeing how much school ruins mentalities, self esteem, and lives in general when education should be the total OPPOSITE. learning is suppose to be liberating not a high score challenge.

I can't hide my competitive side asdjkfjghrf like I want to get high scores
but not too much like actually competing with other students, I just want to get a high rank (if that makes sense) like there's guy who transferred in my school in 4th grade, I always got 1st place, he always got 2nd place but after the pandemic, he got 1st, I got 2nd like I want to beat him but not actually beat him beat him, just want to get the 1st place rank if that even makes sense ?? please tell me it does😭 but of course I don't look down on other students who have a lower rank than me, that's baaaad

ofc!! that makes total sense !! imo, its like a mixed bag, i agree it is good to have that competitive/challenge because it can encourage students to learn but when it becomes too focused on the competitive side rather than the actual joys of learning side is what im worried about

like when people study to just get good grades rather than study because they actually wanna learn and expand their minds, yknow? so many people just study to get good test grades and then immediately forget it all right after so its like what was the point im not at all smart enough to figure out a proper solution, balance to it but seeing people get so stressed over stuff like this makes me sad n sick. especially because i never tried in school (before college).... like.... at all...................................................i really didnt care... LOL. because it was just TOO MUCH!! too much pressure on tests and works that will not matter in a few years, probably months times depending on the field of work you actually go in.........
so i ignored literally everything and somehow got by ksdfjskd.

i think we have a similar (but still different) method with "college credits" you can take but it would just be classes you can take to get a headstart by taking college credit classes while in high school so u dont have to take them in college. i tried that ONCE for AP english and never again bc im too dumb for that school is way too competitive than it has any right to be, let them kids live 😭

private schools here too also get more benefits whilst public schools get left in the dust, if you start a riot, i support it. go off!! show em!! rework the education system!!

Oh shit that's interesting! We don't have that but we got prerequitsites so like for a medicine degree you'll have to do bio or something, computer sicence needs advanced maths, etc. Because many humanities don't need any prerequities (what I wanna do has literally none), many students do a sicnece 'just in case' but like??? You can take the prerequiste in uni bro. EXACTLY LET US LIVE!!
