I'm sure you didn't know this, but Native Americans usually don't like to be referred to by that term

Ohhh, I was wondering if it ok or not, :nekosweat: in the book, a character referred to them as such so I was thinking it wasn't bad, I will go edit it out, so sorry :pepeslippy:

"we're mourning the man who made our childhood not the abuser he turned out to be" they're literally the same person....
i'm not gonna lie, i do feel a similar way. yeah it's a bit sad, i personally get sad seeing anyone die early. and he is leaving behind so many loved ones, including his kid who's like what? 7? too young to lose a parent. and more than sad, it's downright jarring to see someone who was a part of your childhood die when you're still young. as it said, it does feel unreal.

but that person was an abuser. he was one. and the demented section of his fans are attacking his victims. they're being absolutely vile over this and for what? a guy who didn't know you existed? buddy i get being shocked and saddened by his death, i understand, you were his fan. and i think it's okay to grieve that, that a person you dedicated so much of your life to is no more. but he was also a horrible person, and i hope you're able to understand that too. that the man who made your childhood was also the man who abused women.

that said, it's clear fame (or more likely the withdrawal thereof) took its toll on the guy, and he was struggling. he deserved help - and if he got it, he deserved better help. but not all people who are struggling hurt others in this way.

exactly like you get it, i'm not trying to rub salt into the wounds of those grieving fans as most of them are still teenagers and when you're young seeing someone who shaped your childhood die hits you more than it should have, i also felt that when a vocalist of a band i grew up on passed away when i was 18 but reactions of those feeling no sympathy towards an abuser are just as valid. i personally do not feel sad for him, only for people he left behind such as his child and for his ex-gf who are likely to be blamed for his death by cult-minded fans. early death does not absolve a person of acts they committed and to act like it does is a slap in the face to victims whose abusers happened to be likeable celebrities.

like you said, he deserved to get help as this was all preventable but it wasn't others responsibility to make him get that help. don't get me started on how absolutely hypocritical it is to claim that online bullying killed him and then go bully his victims. after all, liam the man who sang many teenagers' favourite song and liam the abuser were both the same person. people can be sad he's gone, but they have a valid reason not to. especially if they also happen to be abuse victims who feel traumatised seeing people glorify a man who inflicted the same thing they suffered on other women.
