also one thing that irks me about the kpop community is the thirst and the absolute necessity for a totally different country’s validation for an asian pop genre, for it to be popular.

which i will say, also led to the decline of many groups musically, bts, blackpink, monsta x, psy all became popular in the west and had what not achievements, but at the cost of their korean sound and the very essence of being a korean pop group.
