You have to wait 30 minutes after brushing your teeth to eat too-SO EITHER WAY. You have to wait.

Its just a matter of whether you want your food to taste good or not-I prefer for my food to taste good and not have a minty aftertaste personally.

i don’t do it for the taste i do it for my health but whatever suits you

@Lovely_Cornchips plus i wear a retainer during the night so its extra gross waking up in the morning and i can’t imagine swallowing all that bacteria as i eat so its just a personal preference

I can't do what you are mentioning because other wise I'd be getting up at 4:30-5 AM instead of 5:30 AM just so I can eat breakfast....either way you have to wait to eat whether you brush your teeth before or after so its just preference but I think it's absolutely breakfast ruining to brush your teeth and THEN eat. I brush my teeth after dinner too-not before.

I brush after lunch i eat my breakfast and lunch fairly close to each other. if im annoyed with morning breath ill just go use mouthwash or drink some water, but generally i don't have morning breath

all the comments here makes me question if ppl brush their teeth before going to bed.
because if u brush them before going to bed (that includes cleaning your tongue) your mouth wont be dirty af in the morning.

anyways, on work days I brush before eating breakfast, but thats only because I eat breakfast at work later. so I brush after waking up.
I eat breakfast like 1 hour later. by then the mouth doesnt taste like toothpaste anymore.

Do you brush your teeth before or after breakfast?
We had an “argue” about it in work today.
One of my colleague said brushing before eating makes the food taste gross because of the toothpaste taste.
Other one said kissing your partner with a bad breath during morning is no fun, so she brushes right after waking up, definitely before breakfast.

You mean an argument?

Your first colleague must have forgotten how disgusting their mouth is after being closed for hours during sleep.
So what they mean is they'd rather keep the nasty mouth feeling while eating breakfast instead of the clean feeling of brushing teeth.
Okay, that makes sense --- to them.

Your second colleague is actually sensible. Everyone has nasty morning breath and the colleague wanting to brush before breakfast is a good idea.


I brush my teeth BEFORE breakfast. I don't care if the food doesn't taste normal when I know I'm not combining it with morning plaque build-up.

Same to me. I drive like 35-40 minutes to reach my workplace and I eat breakfast at work. I just can’t wake up earlier than this for breakfast. So, toothpaste taste is not a problem to me.
