Do you ever see ads for prescription medications? I’ve heard that other counties don’t have them (except New Zealand) so I’m curious. I’m watching the Winter Olympics and holy medication ads. Everything from schizophrenia ads to arthritis ads to kidney cancer ads to weight loss ads, and the list goes on. I just want to know how often a person sees an ad for their condition, goes to their doctor who either doesn’t know this medication or didn’t think of it, which leads to the patient being prescribed it and it being a perfect fit for the person. Like isn’t the job of your doctor to be the one to know these medications and which would work best for you? Rather than you hearing a 30 second ad and understanding that it’s the one for you?

I don't watch the TV much and we have an Ad blocker now on the laptop but I'm pretty sure we do get medical ads tho they are just for basic stuff, headaches, knee pains, soreness, swelling and such things, not really serious stuff


and in india mental conditions are non-existent because no one believes they even exist its a good joke to tell you aint getting ads on those

(am an american) but iirc it was illegal to advertise directly to patients in some countries. may no longer be the case though!

I get the prescribed medication from my GP doctor or psychiatrist
And they are taken morning noon and night

Ads very rarely

we only get adds for non-prescription meds in my country, its regulated by law, very strict, for example they cant feature people dressed as doctors
