Rank your fave's ALBUM discography (1 Viewer)

I'm thinking about how a lot of albums have come out lately where I was neutral towards the title track, but found a huge bop in the B sides. Or how the collection of songs really worked well together to elevate all of the songs as a whole. So this ranking isn't about what's the best title, or even which album has the best song, but how would you rank the entire collection of song(s) on album A vs album B vs...? You can include or exclude single albums, depending on how many albums your fave has, lol.





Doing my thoughts on (G)I-DLE:

1. I Never Die
   1. Really cohesive album theming where all the songs support the overall message
   2. Strong, memorable B sides (e.g. My Bag, Villain Dies, Polaroid, Never Stop Me)
   3. One of their best titles in Tomboy
2. I Burn
   1. Contains two of their best titles ever (Hann, which was originally released as a non-album single, and the promotional title for this album, Hwaa)
   2. Contains two of their best B sides ever (Moon and Dahlia)
   3. Two other solid songs (Where is Love and Lost)
3. I Love
   1. Strong theming of the "I love" concept across all of the B sides, exploring a variety of themes
   2. Their best English release in Change
   3. Lots of contributions from Minnie and Yuqi
   4. Rating it lower than I Burn and I Never Die, because Nxde is structurally very similar to Tomboy and doesn't stand out as much
4. I Trust
   1. Smaller album than the ones above, but it makes up for it by having Oh My God and Lion
5. I Am
   1. Strong title in Latata, but nothing particularly striking in their B sides
6. I Made
   1. Just the least memorable overall with their weakest title, Senorita

 

[Myth]

P1harmony:

1. Disharmony : Break Out
   1. Has many iconic b-sides like AYAYA, Pyramid, End It, If You Call Me (their best ballad don't @ me), etc. It really is cohesive and conveys a good sense of intensity and drama.
2. Harmony : Zero In
   1. I think this is the point where Piwon started to branch out and dip into more different types of sounds and styles, which is a great way to kick off the era since this is the "in" and not the "out" chapter of their series, so the vibe will be different. At this point in the lore, they saved the world from impending doom and are working to explore this new, vibrant, peaceful world.
      
      Doom Du Doom is one of their most unique titles to date and Black Hole and Mirror Mirror really turn it up. Though my favorite will always be Swagger for her lush sounds and confidence boosting lyrics.
3. Harmony : Set In
   1. Continues off of Zero In, but pushes it further. Look At Me Now has some rock elements which they haven't explored much before, BFF is a vibrant bop, and Back Down is a fun title. I don't think the songs are as iconic to me as past b-sides however.
4. Disharmony : Find Out
   1. Arguably, the era where Piwon came into their own as they blew up a bit more here. Do It Like This is a boppy title. Follow Me carries the intensity seen in Zero In b-sides. That's Money and Bop are fun in their own right.
5. Disharmony : Stand Out
   1. I feel bad ranking this one last, but thinking about it, I think Piwon only became stronger discography wise. Still, this one has some great moments in the dramatic, but subdued Butterfly, the bright Nemonade (which I would argue is the predecessor to BFF), they all demonstrated and challenged themselves to rap in That's It, which is interesting since they don't all rap (usually) asides from Seob, Intak, and sometimes Jiung. And Siren is still to me, their best title with the strongest hooks.

I’m so glad someone else understands that Senorita was not it. I’ll rank ILY:1 because they don’t have a lot of songs or albums and it’ll be easy to do.

1. A Dream Of ILY:1

Their first mini album! I loved the title track so much and this era was so cute! Also, no rapping or high notes in Twinkle Twinkle, just a good, solid song. Secret Recipe is their best B-side by far and is the main reason why this album ranks so high instead of Que Sera Sera coming out on top. I don’t love Tasty or Thanks To nearly as my much, but the other two tracks are so good that they balance each other out in the end.

2) Que Sera Sera

This is the era I started to stan them! This song made me fall in love with them even more, and I already loved their debut so much! The ONLY reason this isn’t number one is because there are no B-sides, but if there were, it probably would be. Everything is perfect, I just wish there was more of it, you know?

3) Love In Bloom

A very solid debut. I loved it! The aesthetics, the cat in the music video, the choreography, all of it! It gave me Iz*One vibes in the best way possible. The main reason it’s so low is because the teaser pictures were atrocious and the only B-side, Azalea, was not my cup of tea at first and took a month or so to fully grow on me. Even now, it’s safely in the bottom half of all their songs in my opinion.

I appreciate Soyeon trying to do something new with the different titles, and it fit Soojin well, but uh, that's about the nicest thing I can say about it. And checking out your faves, starting with Que Sera Sera! I feel that way about FIFTY FIFTY where Cupid is so good, but even with three versions, there's not enough there to reasonably rank it above their debut lol.

Oh, interesting!! Do It Like This is one of the songs I readily know by P1H, so the fact that you have three albums above it makes me want to check those out too!

And I know what you mean about putting something last. I just figure: any list has to have a last and a first and it doesn't automatically mean there's a big quality gap or something. (Except I do mean that about Tomboy vs. Senorita. xD It just doesn't have to mean that!)

Completely understandable. Like I said, the teasers and Azalea dragged their debut down for me, but I still really love it.

I dont think it would be that hard, but its shinee. everything shinee is hard to choose or rank.
