I don't count the tts years as hiatuses no, specially because in those years they promoted a hell of a ton in japan. Idk, at least the ones that reported it overseas (namely sites that aren't allowed to be mentioned here lmaooo) did mention the official hiatus. But i know they're not fully reliable so yeah it's honestly kinda eh lol. Plus they didn't make very explanative announcements/statements of their own in regards to the events or anything so it makes it blurrier. But they have been showing hints of coming back together soon for music for a few years so hopefully that works.

I regard the hints as stringing along us SONEs/forcing SM to allow them to reunite as OT8. Its complicated i both want a cb n prefer genuine possible ot8 cb. If no chance id prefer a straight answer from sm but i dont expect it, unlike fx - as long as tae, sun, hyo, yul n yoon are still in SM. They(sm/ot5/oh!gg) could hv given us a cb by now if they werent string along us SONEs. Hope but verify.

i wouldn't really think it's stringing along, mainly because it is true that it is complicated as hell but you can tell that there's a willingness from both sides. Otherwise SM wouldn't have given them those weird exclusive contracts/deals with their companies + how lee soo man supposedly met up with them with pics and all (if i'm not mistaken) + the members wouldn't be shoving it down our throats constantly lmao. So there is a likeliness and a willingness, it's just very complicated and therefore hard to give a straight answer. Not IOI complicated but still pretty bad for korean standards lmao. Both sides do seem to want a comeback but neither seem certain if it's entirely possible or how to make it happen. But if they've been trying this hard it must be for a reason.

I'm talking about the individual members' companies that in 2017 said they had deals with SM in regards to the members. Only one that didn't was Seohyun's but said they were "open for negotiations", they never mentioned it again though, and if i'm not mistaken she did change company since then so i have no idea.

I believe they were more provisional/cooperative tho considering Tif wasnt signed to a korean company n soo n seo were signed to actors companies, kinda like wat just happened to got7, maybe except no one stayed in jyp. Namoo or whoever it was in 2017 had to say sth or SONEs would hv rioted n boycotted Soo n Seo acting efforts, again i wasnt SONE in 2017 so no first hand knowledge, just tat i paid some attention n researched bkwards in 2018. GP alone wouldnt hv sustained Seo n Soo acting career in the beginning n Sooyoung dint hv a good start after leaving SM, i think. It was only in 2019 she got lead role in Tell Me What You See, while Seo got lead faster/earlier for Time. Yuri also had lead in My Grandma Dae Janggeum while Yoona always had it made in acting even b4 2017, tho i hvnt watched her except in EXIT. We just hv difference of interpretation i think.
