The card challenge is a 2nd option to the threads quest. So you can do the card challenge+2 threads anywhere instead of 3 threads with one in one of the music sections. But you can't do both, it's one or the other, and since you did the 3 threads, you can't earn an extra card by doing the card challenge+2 threads
