@Selfmate I see Eminem in a new light now. my caregiver who's also an Em fan like you, she talked me down from outright hating him yesterday. She explained all the hell he went through in his life and that he's not rapping with anger, but with passion. I argued that he used to put dcown all the boy bands, but then she countered with the fact that those were just his opinions. Doesn't mean I agree with those opinions now, but at least I know this now. lol

and question! who are some artists you previously disliked but now stan? (Eminem pun intended)

I used to be bullied back in primary (elementary) school so Eminem's music used to really resonate with me as an outsider and foreigner to Australia since I was the only Chinese (let alone Asian) kid at my school otherwise filled with white kids.

Eminem's background being a white dude in a predominately black genre - rap really resonated with me.

I've listened to his music I've bought his albums and when he decided to grace my nugu city I went to his concert which is why I say he is the only artist I stan.

This is still my fav (western) song of all time

charli xcx in a way? i mean i don't fully stan her but i fell for the "brat summer" pop culture craze because the album has some catchy melodies and lyrics i find relatable even though her music isn't really my thing in general and before brat i had a boomer-like notion about hyperpop being just noise

also i didn't really dislike her but thanks to my country, i was prejudiced against social media influencers making music - and then i heard addison rae's debut album and it was surpisingly better than multiple works by acclaimed big artists
