News Seoul High Court rejects NewJeans' plea for independent activities aka NJZ lost the Injunction Appeal (1 Viewer)

The NewJeans members requested that they be allowed to carry out independent activities, regardless of the entertainment agency ADOR, but the Seoul High Court rejected this on the 17th. Previously, the Seoul Central District Court made the same decision in April.

NewJeans is engaged in a legal dispute with their agency, ADOR. In March, the Central District Court accepted an injunction filed by ADOR against the five members of NewJeans, prohibiting them from activities such as maintaining their status with the agency and entering into advertising contracts. The ruling was based on the premise that "the NewJeans members are affiliated with ADOR, so they should not engage in independent activities."

In response to this injunction, the ADOR members filed an objection with the Central District Court, but it was dismissed in April. They subsequently filed another objection with the Seoul High Court, only to receive another dismissal that day. The Seoul High Court's Civil Division 25-2 (Director General Hwang Byeong-ha, Jeong Jong-gwan, Lee Gyun-yong) stated, "Even considering the NewJeans members' claims and evidence, we find the injunction decision (prohibiting independent activities) to be justified." If the NewJeans members disagree with the Seoul High Court's decision, they will appeal to the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, the NewJeans members were also notified on the 30th of last month by the Central District Court that they must pay 1 billion won each every time they engage in independent activities.
