It follows the characters from their school days and into their adulthood and the troubles that get thrown their way throughout their appropriate ages...
The series is honestly the well written and developed anime that I've ever watched. And as its animated by Kyoto Animation, the animation is amazing!!!!!!!

I re watch it every Spring. I have done for the past 9 years now

and laugh as well! There are many funny moments throughout the series too.
