apparently self defense isn't allowed in schools
we had this RAD KIDS program in elementary school for Abt 2 years and they had to stop it bc kids were actually using the defense mechanisms against bullies.

my friend's sister was in elementary school a couple years ago and she was being pushed into the toilet and stalls so she flipped off the girls who were doing it to her (and it wasn't the first time they did something like that) and guess who got in trouble? my friends sister got suspended
