Should people be allowed to walk the stage at graduation if they don’t have enough credits? (1 Viewer)

So apparently there is a school board here that is letting students walk the stage at graduation even if they don’t have enough credits to actually graduate

So in this specific school board, an individual may “graduate” with their peers even if they don’t have enough credits. They can do the credits over the summer or the next semester. So we need 30 credits to graduate high school here, so students with 25-29 credits approximately can walk the stage and attend the ceremony

Honestly, I get it as long as they can earn the credits to graduate with in one semester. there shuld be a plan in place thogh. It's a once in a life time thing. Missing it will only make someone who's having a tough time less likely to graduate. and you want to graduate with friends. It could encourage them to keep working.

I was in this situation in university a few years ago. I was short 3 credits from graduating because I didn't realize that I needed to take 1 more 3-credit class.

I was still able to walk during the ceremony but I wouldn't get my degree until took whatever class I needed to complete my degree. The easiest and cheapest way to get those 3 credits was to take an online course during the summer trimester at the Community College I used to go to.

So I took an online Intro to Business class during that summer trimester and got an easy A from it. Plus, it was easy to transfer those 3 credits from the commuity college to the university I attended.

So I ended up getting my Bachelor's in late August-Early September of 2018 instead of May 2018
