The cybernetic futuristic concept feels so 2000 and late. Nowadays the trend is turn of millennium concepts like what NJ, TS, IVE are doing. Imagine Aespa doing a high school baddie type concept. They were young enough for it. Getting stuck on Kwangya is getting too repetitive. The fans will eat whatever they are served but the public wants something fresh.

Not at all. The metaverse continues to be a hot trend in the wider world beyond kpop and I see aespa continually come up in non-pop related discussions about the metaverse (as an example of it in action). I cackled to see it brought up at work as an example several times since I don't think SM actually does much to leverage the metaverse concept and was astonished to see them show up in an Intel commercial during Sunday night football (some of the most expensive ad space around). Let the other ride the 00s nostalgia wave. There's room in the space for different styles.

I think the idea of Metaverse, as a bigger concept, not the Aespa concept, is completely, absolutely poisoned by Zuckerberg and big tech.
When I hear Metaverse these days, I don't think aespa. I don't think some cool future with really cool cyberspace worlds. I think of the semi-dystopian crap pushed by Zuckerberg and Meta and other tech companies about stupid, deeply unwanted idea about "going to work" by putting on VR headsets and having awful virtual meetings all day. Being made by clueless company bigwigs to wear a VR headset and wave your arms around to do a job that is much easier on a normal computer. An idea so horrible that even the employees and engineers working for Meta need to be begged to use it. And when you look around on lots of tech, work and life sites, thats the perception of what "metaverse" is.

So yeah, since aespa debuted, I think the idea of metaverse has been tainted.
