it depends on your skin type, but i rlly like sulwhasoo's trial kit. i have sensitive skin and it helped a lot w my acne and dryness.

for more affordable stuff, noreva's exfoliac series and cerave's cleansers are quite good
depends a lot on your skin type and the weather, I think in colder climates it's good to always have a richer moisturizer on hand that you can dilute as needed throughout season changes, kiehl's ultra facial cream I used a lot in winter especially when skiing
at any rate, sunscreen is a must

I would recommend one of the, the ordinary sets, especially clear set. its cheap and it should be gentle enough for everyone. Then when you get into that you can start adding other the ordinary products or from other brands. the basics is to have good cleanser, moisturizer and sun screen.

But try something ordinary not something way too expensive once you know what suits your skin best you can go and try the expensive ones

cleansing is the basis of a good skin care routine so i would really recommend getting both a gentle oil cleanser and a water based cleanser. the oil cleanser is to melt away makeup, wash off sunscreen and other products without stripping your skin of its natural oils. a foam cleanser is great for removing impurities, especially if you have oily/acne prone skin. double cleansing in the evening has already improved my skin by a lot.

then a moisturizer, to hydrate and nourish your skin after the cleanse. if you have dry skin its important to look for one that hydrates intensively.

sun screen is super important too. i like to use a liquid type after my skin care in the morning and reapply throughout the day with a sunstick because theyre so convenient.

most importantly: make sure to only get products that suit your skin type and drop a product if it causes a reaction, or it might do you more harm then good. speaking from experience

You have to find your skin type then you can start buying products made for your skin type.

You can start super simple so a cleanser, exfoliating (1-2 times a week) and a moisturizer then sunscreen for the face. You don't need more products like serums, toners, eye creams, etc unless you want to. They're more steps and extra money.

Also don't fall for collagen products, it cannot be absorbed by skin, it's a marketing scam.

I also recommend avoiding trends, especially those on tiktok, it's often companies funding influencers to promote their products and often they aren't as amazing as everyone make it seem to be. You're just gonna end up wasting money, you don't need to change products or get new ones every month.
