Just a theory but nobody ever leaves SM after "7th year contract renewals" but start flooding out after the 10 year ones.
I don't think they have 7 year contracts
We know EXO had 10 year contracts which means the new ones arent fixed
And TRAXXX suing proved the old ones were never revised

yeah, always expect SM to be shady. Red Velvet and NCT members might have 7 year contracts but older groups definitely don't

Wasnt the law supposedly changed after the lawsuit?(lazy to google which of the many ones against SM.) It might not affect existing contracts already signed unless snsd, f(x), shinee n others also wanted to break their contract. Idk abt exo in this scenario as they signed in 2012 n some members wanted out in 2014/2015. (No mention of renewals in 2019 for ot9.)
Snsd, f(x) but not shinee, famously had attention for 10 yr anniversary n contract renewals-so for SM, u could be right(at least until RV hits 7 yrs, then we'll see.)
Idk abt jyp or yg rn cos there aint been drama (afaik) abt leaving.

From what I can remember, there is an extension clause at the 7 year mark and SM has the right to exercise it.
