Rumor SM planning on creating a "Super Boy Group" with select members from SHINee, EXO, NCT, and WayV (2 Viewers)

Well...I'm not happy about this at all. Sure it is a power group, but WHY?? Why put Idols like Taemin, Kai or Baekhyun into a group, who will debut again? It is a permanent group and not a unit. So they will be rookies...again.

I know that the main groups Shinee, EXO and NCT will be still there, but why are they doing it? If they are short on money, there are different ways...

I can only speak as an EXO-L, but it is not a secret that Kai wants a solo or a sub-unit with his EXO members. Baekhyun is already in CBX and a solo artist. And not that? EXO only has six active members currently. I would prefer a prober comeback and not something like this.

I'm just not a fan of this and not shadding NCT or Shinee.

Same. I have nothing against Shinee and NCT but I am not a stan so it doesn’t interest me at all.

Nah, if they wanted to do that, they would’ve promoted their most popular boy group, EXO. This group is definitely just for promotional/money reasons in attempt to save their falling stocks.

If that's the point it's a irrational and horrible plan as BTS just sold 3.5 million albums so even if you take EXOs 2M + SHINees 300k + NCTs 300k, you won't get enough to beat BTS out of that and this is taking these groups peak album sales which SHINee don't sell any more so the actual number would end up around 2.5M, a whole 1 million off.

Yeah, but I think people are more upset over the fact that they are not doing this for artistic purposes, but solely for money and the existing groups aren’t even promoted properly so why debut a group when you can’t even promote your existing ones? - Is probably why people are upset

Yeah that's the first I thing I thought of when I heard this so I was wondering why people were getting riled up. But apparently, this is gonna be a legit group that will properly promote and have comebacks. They've even begun the marketing/media play with the "super boygroup" thing.

I don’t think they’ll have as many comebacks as what the fans think. Baekhyun enlists next year, with Taemin and Kai (as he’s early 94 so enlists with the 93 lot) the year after.

Well they are in another money controversy right now so it's really not that shocking.

They can't give a full exo comeback so they have to combine powers lmao

If you read the tweet it says this is not a project and has comebacks already planned versus SM The Ballad which had 1 comeback 4 years after the debut and the Yoonique unit which had 0 so if this group already has a comeback planned then it's not the same as before and this has longer term plans.
