The song is surprisingly dull. Surprising because Taeyeon has been so good at picking trendy songs for her solo stuff. They’ve been thrown out the ring even before the main competition arrive. Can’t wait to see Ive and Blackpink showdown (who will win? I have no idea).

Also, Newjeans are on fire and I’m loving it.

So you are now all in on NewJeans? I was getting there myself but the last few days the only song that I still like is Attention. Tge other three are growing stale for me real fast.

Yeah, I just think they’re awesome in every way. Attention is also my fav (especially the “drop the question” part), but I also love Hype Boy and Hurt - it’s only Cookie that’s a bit dull. I’ve also been enjoying their interviews and stuff like that - they have a fun set of personalities.

I wonder if Newjeans will hurt IVE’s chances against Blackpink. I thought IVE really could have given Blackpink a run for their money, but with the Korean public so taken up with Newjeans, IVE will need a song as good as a second Love Dive to win the public back and take on Blackpink I think.

Sorry to Onces, but I don’t think Twice are really contenders in this fight.

Iconicism fades away with time

Does it really though? Just because some new teenage fans got into kpop recently and don't know older groups doesn't diminish what those groups did in their prime and kpop fans who have been there since the beginning know this.

Actually the charting is very impressive tbh, the song is a day old and already peaked in top 20, and since songs peak later now, it's got decent potential to rise higher. NewJeans' song is a bit older so it's at the peak, although I'd rather not compare a trendy group that debuted under Hybe last week to a group from 2 generations ago. But the GG song is performing amazing compared to their previous 2017 comeback, and compared to other recent 2nd generation girl group comeback like Apink and T-ara. They really proved they are timeless.

yall just love to put twice out of the competition just because scientist didnt perform well on the kcharts. just say they’re declining just because one of their songs underperformed, and actually did better than any of the top rookie bgs rn. but no yall will just look away from all their achievements in japan and us. and not to mention yall also said nayeon would flop but here she is stable on the top 5 of kcharts despite the strong competition. twice’s legacy is unmatched. they’re one of the biggest girlgroups of all time and are successful while writing, composing and directing their songs. but still if you think some newbie girlgroup surpassing them on the kcharts means they’re done, idk what to tell you. youre delusion is next level
