The Maryland 400 was a group of soldiers who lunched a counterattack during the Battle For Long Island during the American war for independence. This was to give time for the rest of the colonial army to escape. They paid heavily for it, with almost all being captured or dying. And, as the name suggests, there were 260-270 soldiers in the division. I guess “the Maryland about 260 to 270” doesn’t have the same ring
