I’d be worried about over steaming them tbh theyre supposed to be firm enough to stay together, otherwise you get pear wine mush. If they’re still hard by Thursday though it’s not impossible I’d try this or look more into it

Google says put them in a paper bag with other ripe fruit like bananas and ripe apples.
If you don't have either, try it alone. Maybe itll still do something
