solo stans. good or bad? (1 Viewer)

imo i still think that solo stans suck ASS (just recently we had jimin solo stans sending dts to hobi over some damn twt layout)

but i think i can tolerate those who just mind their business and don’t speak on the other members or try to be their saviors. but those are nonexistent (at least with bts)

I'm a solo stan of a few idols, but I don't think it's right to drag other members of their group. It's fine to just like one or two members, but you don't have to hate the others

Thinking people are required to like either every member of a group or no members of a group with no exceptions ever is weird to me personally. Like that’s just not really how it works imo. And yeah solo stans can have questionable behaviors but so so many full group stans have questionable behaviors too towards other groups, that’s not any more okay imo than questionable behavior towards other members of whatever group the person is a solo stan of.

Honestly solo stans are BAD BAD , or at least the ones i have encountered are scaring me.

It depends on what a solo stan is too.

A fan that likes A person , as in their bias, and is chill with the whole group is not a solo stan imo, that's just a normal fan with a bias.

A solo stan imo is a fan that only supports their faves and their activities, actively thinks their fave would be better off without the group, begs for said member to have a solo for years and complains if another member gets it first, fights over screen time and lines in songs constantly, thinks the group doesnt deserve said member, cause their bias is better. That to me personally is a solo stan, cause they dont stan the group as a whole, but only THAT member alone.

and some of those problematic solo stans happen to be the loudest and most vocal and thus drowning out the "good" solo stans

i think it's fine as long as you're not hating on the other members and you just don't have any toxic or negative views overall because i do solo stan some idols but that doesn't mean i dislike the other members or something like that, i'm just more interested in one particular member rather than stanning the whole group

I might have been a Sorn solo stan since her CLC days essentially for her youtube channel; but I may have been just a fan now.

Considering the members of my ult group all have solo careers with sounds distinct from the group, I have absolutely nothing wrong with plain solo stans. Most I've met are just "I vibe with this member's sound, but not the group's sound. I have nothing against the group though"


Obviously this changes with akgaes trying to disguise as those plain solo stans
