Just thinking about this lately with every post or hot take I see about the new season of Black Mirror being terrible and how the new season (that isn't even out yet) of Love Death and Robots is going to suck.

Like dang, you all waited for years for more content just to immediately tear it apart. How exhausting.

Also, it's not my fandom, so IDK what's going on, but man, Genshin Impact fans are so mean to the VAs.

well, I think fans are allowed to be disappointed. I wouldn't take it to that extreme - hating on it before it's even out - but like when BTS released that anthology album before their hiatus, I went into it thinking it was a regular album. And you know how I felt after the long-awaited album turned out to be an anthology? Pretty upset. course, I'm not in the BM or LD&R fandoms, so it may not be my place to say anything, but yeah, they're allowed to be disappointed.

Yeah, I wouldn't care so much about people being disappointed if the thing was genuinely disappointing, but we've seen literally second snippets of what will eventually make up 10 episodes, so the "fandom" talking about how much the new season sucks is just baffling? I can't imagine being so invested into hating something that I follow it for literally years just to immediately explain all the ways in which the thing sucks lol. It's also like really off-putting. I don't want to get into a fandom if the fandom is constantly shit talking the thing we're all supposed to like.

Your post reminds me of when My Chemical Romance made a teaser, knowing full well their fans were expecting it was one of those nostalgia comeback releases, and it was just something like "hey, it's the anniversary of the Black Parade" lmao. Like that shit, I get being mad about.

haha yeah, I can imagine how upsetting that must've been for y'all. When One Direction released their last album and the song History, they were talking about how "this is not the end, we can make it" what a whopper! I still listen to them, but just not that song anymore.

early 2000s/2010s fandoms were happy with anything and everything.
now its just filled with hatred. not that fighting didnt exist back then but it was definitely a more happier space to be in!!
