how do you like the show so far? i think the judging is lowkey questionable and possibly scripted (but that's standard survival show practice lbr. as someone who's a fan of a lot of ppl who've ended up judging survival shows i've learnt the hard way to not take what they say seriously, and unfortunately many of my faves are mentors here, most notable the bad cop of the show choi youngjoon), but the talent is there. i think i prefer project 7 so far though, even if the talent pool is lower it's more enjoyable to me. but who knows maybe with some more episodes this will also take off idk

I’m curious about Project7. Where can I watch it? I only chose Starlight Boys because it was easy to access. I normally go for survival shows debuting girl groups, but the drought exists. I do agree with you about the judging. Something seems fishy.

that said it's also on viki (i think i'll switch to that site next episode onwards, i just found out you don't have to make an account to watch), also you can catch it live on youtube on fridays at 8:50 pm kst. eps 1, 2, and 3 are out (strangely enough 1 and 2 on the same day)

honestly? this may sound like i've got a tinfoil hat on, but i really do believe a lot of the judging decisions are scripted across shows. imo pds want the shock factor, so they have judges take questionable calls. but then again it's always my faves who end up being the fishy judges.

• sunmi in gp999 (i'm not a miyane anymore but i used to be one then),
• boa in street woman fighter 1 and street man fighter (part of it is her not having any links to the street scene, but i am convinced that (a) some of the decisions were scripted and (b) mnet definitely edited the judges to seem like she was the "main judge" and everyone else just nodded along to what she said - when that may not have been the case),
• monika in i-land 2 (that was not the monika shin i know and love)

this could also be pds willfully editing out the parts where these judges made sense, and leaving in only the parts where they didn't. i also think they're really trying to portray choi youngjoon as the tough judge of the show, the one with sky-high standards. that already happened on pdx101 to my knowledge, though he got to be chill in boys planet cause back kooyoung was the tough guy. going off of the preview for the next episode, i think they've also identified lee seunggi as another bad cop (he's honestly such a mixed bag - he wasn't there for half of pd48 but then was such an active and encouraging mc on sing again and peak time). the good cops are going to be daesung and yoon 100% (yoon isn't even a cop imo, she seems like she's gonna be there for the vibes and to put the trainees at ease as a younger idol) also eunbi when she lands up. i also think hui and hanhae would have high standards but not be too strict with the trainees, rather they'd gently push them to the best of their abilities (less "my toddler son can dance better than you" and more "come on i know you can do this let me help you out") though idk hanhae didn't get much screentime

Thank you!! I have watched the first two episodes. Definitely a better set up so far. I think I might still follow both. I will never forget the, arguably, worst judge on a survival show - mr moustache man from R U Next
