When the first reference to that event appears centuries after the event supposedly happens. But you know what’s even more suspicious? When the first record dates back to before it could have happened
One example is the “Let them eat cake” quote attributed to Marie Antoinette. The first variation of the quote appeared in the 1600s, while the quote believed to be about Marie Antoinette in France specifically dates to a book by Jean Jacques Rousseau in 1766, 4 years before she moved to France.
