Thailand’s talented singer, producer, tiktok star, and internet celeb, Channasorn or “Sorn” has had a great career through kpop as a young artist. She’s one of those rare success stories as a foreigner in kpop so I wanted to briefly highlight some of her history and some of her charms so that you can become a fan like I am.

Kpop Star Hunt
At the young age of only 15, Sorn competed in the very first season of a reality competition called Kpop Star Hunt which is basically “American Idol” based in Asia and with a heavy emphasis on “Idol” meaning they also have to dance. You can actually watch the entire first season on YouTube which I don’t necessarily recommend but I won’t stop you.
Here’s the first episode, skip to 20:30 to see Sorn’s appearance before a ton of judges.

And just like that, after her reality show win, Cube Entertainment calls her up and she moves to Korea to train under them, which by the way, is Cube’s very first foreign artist way before the likes of (G)I-DLE’s foreign line. Here’s a clip of Sorn being trained under Cube as well as her trainee experience. Playback is disabled for whatever reason on the first video.

Noticed that she’s completely fluent in English? Well that’s because Sorn went to an International School and has been taught english at a very young age.
At only 18, she debuted with the girl group CLC in 2015 as one of only 2 foreign members (the other being Elkie from China) and as the shortest member at 5’3”. She was moderately popular from the average rankings I searched up. Here’s one of her fancams.

Sorn spent the entire time with CLC before the group and the members eventually disbanded and thats when she transitioned to being an internet celebrity. Her first solo project “Run” was posted on CLC’s main channel.
