I'm happy you could get things off your chest, hope it helps, even if in the smallest of ways.

Truthfully, it sounds like due to circumstances and timing, you guys broke up and you regret it now. But she's with someone else and probably happy. I know what it's like to be hung up on an ex, I did the same thing when I was a lot younger- kept wanting to get back together with her coz she was so perfect, and how could anyone else even come close? Just couldn't envision a future with someone else.

But she moved on, and it was probably for the better. I wasted time that I should've better spent taking care of myself, focusing on my own personal and professional life. I'd suggest you try doing the same, no matter how impossible it seems right now. I know it might seem incomprehensible right now, but you can find happiness without having that person in your life. Sometimes things aren't meant to be and two people who might seem very compatible don't work out in the long term. That's just how life is, but you gotta get through it and things turn around again, I promise you.

Don't make your whole life center around one person or relationship, it's really not healthy for your own self-worth. Invest in yourself and you'll eventually see things differently. I don't wanna be patronizing here, but you're still young, and the way you'll look at this in say 5 years will be different from how you're seeing things now. Letting someone go isn't easy, but can be necessary, and you'll find happiness again once you're able to accept it and truly move on. I think you never had a sense of closure with her, which is why you're feeling this way even more.

Not much else to say, good luck with your future. Please take care of yourself and try not to self-harm or contemplate other things. There's a life worth living for yourself and I hope you see that.

It is good that you could let out your feelings in this post, keeping such feelings and thoughts bottled up inside is completely unhealthy for you in the end. Kind of like what Ozy said, I hope you can find some kind of happiness and sense of self outside of your relationship with her. In the end, especially since she is in another relationship now, it is better for you to look inwardly to heal the loneliness in your heart. Relying so much on another person for your happiness is unhealthy for both involved, frankly speaking. People aren't perfect and they will hurt you one way or another even if they love you, it happens every second of the day. I'm not telling you that "people always disappoint you" as a reason to put your walls up and not trust others, what I wish you could do one day is trust yourself. Trust that you yourself can be happy on your own, achieve dreams, etc. Hoping that you can find a way to love yourself and put yourself first so that you can feel not so lonely anymore. It might take a long time, but if you take it one day at a time and work on it slowly, it'll be worth it in the end

Like what's been said the best way to handle getting over someone is to focus on yourself and not constantly checking her social medias as that will keep her on your mind and make it harder for you.

You don't have to view it as closing the door entirely but it's not a wait and see moment with her being in a relationship and even if she wasn't I don't think you're in the right state to handle a relationship with anyone including her as your mental state won't just get better even if it helps a bit.

Just focus on being the best version of yourself that you can be however not for her but for yourself and someone will come along and want to be with you for that even possibly more amazing than the girl you want now.
