I have unfortunately seen many of the videos going around on Twitter and what happened is absolutely horrifying. I hope he's charged for this, I hope the organizers, the venue, the security, Apple Music, everyone get sued within an inch of their lives. There was no reason for these people to die. Before anyone questions why I say charge the performer, it's because he's actually got a long history of encouraging his fans to behave badly. Three people were trampled and injured at Astroworld 2019, and he's been arrested multiple times for telling fans to climb over barricades and storm the stage. His team actually went and deleted a bunch of his old tweets that were incriminating, too.

This day was doomed to end badly from the start, people actually broke through the security checkpoints to get into the show, there are videos of them just shoving their way through and totally overwhelming any security attempt to stop them. That right there should have been enough to cancel the show as they had no way of knowing if any weapons made it in. My heart goes out to the families who lost their loved ones and who are having to see all of this play out in the media, complete with graphic footage.

His whole brand is basically going all out and encouraging his fans to, as well. He doesn't care if anyone gets hurt, as long as he's getting the crowd hype he wants.


The fact that the show was even allowed to go on just baffles me, and now it seems like there's a campaign to try and make the dead out as having passed due to drugs or some alleged assailant injecting people with substances. Even the police have said they're, "Looking into a series of cardiac arrests" as if it's possible something other than the massive crush of people might've killed them. Anything to point the blame anywhere else than where it belongs. Even the police were negligent in not immediately shutting the show down mid-mass casualty event. I hate to think of how many of the dead and injured could have been spared if they had even just stopped the show until they made sure everyone got out. There is video of Travis performing as he watches staff pulling a limp body from the crowd, idk how he could see that and not stop, that's absolutely heartless. People are dead all because money was more important than taking the time to be sure this event was properly set up and staffed, with proper crowd control, security, medical supplies, and emergency management plans. Makes me sick. No one should ever lose their life just trying to have a good time at a concert, especially since music is an escape for so many.

yeah Travis definitely loves to provoke the crowd at his shows, there is apparently even a lyric in one of his songs where he says (to paraphrase, because i have not listened to the song in question and refuse to) that "it ain't a moshpit if there's no injuries" or something to that effect.

So they had 528 officers on scene and yet eight people are dead. Probably because for a crowd of 50k, there were only 1,283 people to keep them in control. After months of pandemic lockups and for a performer with a history of causing trampling incidents including at that very festival in 2019. This was actually their better security, because apparently they beefed everything up after that incident.

He could have prevented the whole thing, he knew the crowd was unsafe, and he had the authority to shut everything down in that moment....

He could've looked out for everyone if he was so sure that it wouldn't be safe; doesn't matter that they paid (well, 1/5 of them paid) 6 months ago, and it doesn't matter that Scott's popular.

I wish he'd taken action when his concern was ignored, especially if he knew he was right.

Apparently the police chief knew Scott personally, so...I wonder if that influenced him to not shut it down. It is also really questionable that the people investigating this incident are the Houston Police when they were literally involved and likely culpable. They had 528 officers there and the Chief knew conditions were unsafe. Tell me how them investigating this ISN'T a huge conflict of interest/a great way to cover their own asses.

Houston PD & Chief Finner are just as responsible in this as Travis, Live Nation, Apple Music, etc, if not moreso because they had full authority to shut it down and didn't, and their emergency management was non-existent.

Honestly, he didn't want to stop. He knew they were telling him to stop. Also I saw a clip of someone's livestream when the crowd was surging. You could literally hear a female screaming for help, and Travis wasn't even singing at that point. There was no music, he was looking into the crowd and nodding his head like he like what he saw.

Wasn't it attendees who just happened to be nurses helping medical out as well? Medical didn't even have the supplies that they were asking for. And also there were some teens that were trying to help but were doing CPR wrong.

There was a Firefighter in the crowd who had to stop and help, tried to teach the workers how to do CPR but they just weren't having it. Police refused to help and ending up dropping the girl he was helping, flat on her face. She died later on.

Everybody needs to be sued into the ground

If there were only 10,000 tickets for sale, and 50,000 people showed up.... forget the festival. It's not his park. Whoever runs that park should have shut it down without a warning, and refund those who paid.

Not sure where you got the 10,000 tickets number, it was actually 100,000 tickets in total for the two day festival, 50,000 per day. That said, they did estimate that at least 5,000 people without tickets did get in. The death toll is now up to nine and likely to reach at least ten because the nine year old who is on life support apparently has no brain activity.

A couple more updates:
- The police chief has insisted that he did not have complete authority to shut the event down
- After tracking down the person allegedly injected with drugs, it turned out the story was entirely false and he was instead hit and knocked unconscious (disappointed but not surprised they pushed it as fact immediately)
