Itaewon is a crowded place, in general. I feel police could have done better crowd control, but at the same time, it was a narrow road on a hill lined with bars, just all around a bad area.

Looks like this event had no covid restrictions, causing more people to go. they shouldn't have lifted the restriction and did more crowd control and thought ahead of time.

Restrictions have been lifted many places, it's possible this would have eventually happened anyways. The area's design basically guarantees it. Crowd control, yes, they could have done better, but who knows if they predicted this turnout.

I've seen many of them and the level of disaster is just shocking. Korea is going to have to take a hard look at themselves for the failure in prevention & response to this incident.
I would assume they'll delay/cancel quite a bit.
