I made a physical prototype before I go into digital prototyping to get an idea for rough dimensions and proportions. I didn’t bother making the second pyramid roof, but I made the rest

Interesting! I didn't know so much went into gingerbread house making. I thought you just, IDK, baked gingerbread and glued it together with icing and it magically worked. Which seems dumb as I'm typing it out.

If you use a premade design that is indeed how it works but if you’re making your own custom design there is a lot more to it to make sure the geometry works. And in some cases you also need to consider structural elements (like when we made that witches hut with chicken legs). And you need to consider things like gingerbread cooking unevenly and maybe gaps appearing. And you need to consider what the adhesion is and how long it takes to dry so you know what order to build it all in and what supports you need. There really is quite a bit that goes behind making your own

It is Except when an argument starts about what’s the best way to do something. But other than that And I get to use my nerdy “engineering” skills for the design itself because no one else in my family has any experience with 3d modeling
