Steps to making a phone call (1 Viewer)

For me

1. Open up their website/the page with their phone number.
2. Pace around while looking at the page and thinking how much I don’t want to call.
3. Chicken out and go on KS/discord/ect.
4. Feel the feeling of impending doom because I know I need to call.
5. Open the page again.
6. Repeat an unknown number of times depending on the day/s.
7. Get a burst of confidence and click the button to call.
8. Immediately want to cry.
9. Usually get through the call. Usually.
10. Success.

Bonus if they don’t pick up after all that.

This is a joyous experience, 10/10 would recommend The lady that answered was lovely by the way

OMG, this is nearly what I go through except for the crying part. Usually I'm angry and disappointed in myself for letting it take so long to just get it done. I also didn't used to be like that. When I was in sales I had a phone glued to my ear all day. Not sure where I went wrong. I'll blame covid since that's the thing to do these days.

- Dial the number but don't press the call button.
- Write out my message. Include potential questions.
- Stare into the void. Or set a time to actually make the call.
- Call, pray they pick up immediately.
- Once they pickup, read my script. Take notes.
- Hang up.
- Curl into a ball and think about how cats don't have to go through this.

I never had a position with a lot of phone calls but I did have a cashier position that required interaction ofc. Except instead of making me more comfortable with human interaction it led me to having a breakdown and me needing to be hospitalized psychiatrically. Not only for that position, but it played a role

Also something fun is that my therapist went through my checkout line once and I had absolutely no idea until she brought it up at the next therapy session. I wasn’t a fan of that, or comments some people made that implied they remembered me but I had absolutely no idea that I had seen them before. I love human interaction

I'm sure about elsewhere but for certain gov departments down under - sometimes the wait time is upwards of 2 hours lol
