The first Polish language encyclopedia was called Nowe Ateny, written by the priest priest Benedykt Joachim Chmielowski. Among the entries was an entry for Horse, where he helpfully said “Everyone can see what a horse is”. And left it at that. Don’t know what a horse is and want to? Too bad. Find another encyclopedia
