He had an accident in 2012 and was knocked down by a car. Since then, his condition have worsened in particular in 2019 and 2020 so he had shoulder surgery. He will take a brief break. BigHit posted the news on Weverse and then Suga posted a message there too.





It’s a bit heartbreaking to know that he was suffering all these years. He only told to his members what happened to him in 2017. I am sad to not see him during the comeback but at the same time, I am glad that he did what he had to do. He will comeback stronger.

I'm questioning a. why the hell there were 6 years of symptoms between diagnoses, and b. why surgery wasn't done when the tear was detected, as there's almost no way a labral tear heals without.

The problem is, the longer you go without surgery, the higher chance of permanent damage and long term issues, especially if you're regularly performing at a professional level.

From what I understand, he did get surgery but it happened after it was too late for it to properly heal and considering their schedules, probably exasperated the injury over time. He looked like he was in pain during the concert

No my poor baby! I’ve been worried about his injury since Idol era because at times he seemed to be careful with it when performing. It’s not going to be the same without him, but he needs to do what’s best for his health, feel better soon Yoongi!!!

I know, I am a nurse and I am working at an hospital so I am talking with my experience here when I say that some people refuse to really take care of their health and rest for a while in order to properly heal. They prefer to stay concentrated on their work and their everyday life.

BTS had a crazy schedule for years and they cannot stand not being able to perform. There were multiples incidents about that. I was at the Paris concert in 2018 when Jungkook suffered an injury. He should have sit during the whole concert but he changed his mind and the members have to repeatedly told him to sit down. They just gave up at the end as he wasn’t listening to them for more than two minutes anyways.
